(Day 1)
Finally, the start of your life as a foreign student in Japan. Due to the time difference, I woke up at 4:30 a.m. Italian time. At 9:00 a.m., we were divided into Japanese and English teams for the orientation, where the local staff explained our schedule and told us what we needed to be careful about in our life in Italy. To protect ourselves from pickpockets, we brought two secret pouches, an anti-skimming card case, and a backpack key from Japan. After the orientation, we went on a city tour, including a visit to a mercato, purchase of a cell phone SIM card, purchase of tickets at a train station, recommendations of good restaurants by experienced staff, and a briefing on petit information about daily life in the city. The tour was full of information that was necessary and interesting for both sightseeing and for living in the area. When we were all hungry, we all had a welcome lunch!
I chose spaghetti with sardines and dried grapes, Chiania beef steak, and tomatoes for garnish. The spaghetti was great, with a sauce that was well-done on the noodles.

（1日目）
いよいよ留学生活スタート。時差でイタリア時間4時半起床。前日の23時到着で疲れているはずが、ワクワクで眠れませんでした。9時からのオリエンテーションでは、日本チーム、英語チームに分かれて現地スタッフさんが今後のスケジュール説明と同時に、イタリア生活で気をつけなくてはならないことを教えていただきました。スリ対策は、日本からシークレットポーチ二つ、スキミング防止カードケース、リュック用鍵を持ってきました。オリエンテーション終了後、市内観光ではメルカート見学、携帯SIMカード購入、駅でのチケット購入、ベテランスタッフおすすめの美味しいお店や、生活プチ情報を説明してもらいました。観光兼ねて、これから現地で生活していく上で、必要な気になる情報満載で有り難かったです。お腹が丁度空いた時間に、今日は全員でウェルカムランチがありました！
私が選んだメニューは、鰯と干し葡萄のスパゲッティ、キアニア牛のステーキ、付け合わせのトマト。スパゲッティは、麺にしっかり絡んだソースが最高。

(Day 2)
Today, we gathered in front of Agenzia della Entrata at 8:25am. When I left my house, it was drizzling…was it raining today? It turned into a downpour and thunderstorm, and we arrived soaking wet as if we were taking a full-body shower. The procedure went smoothly with the help of the local staff. When I returned to the school and opened my backpack, I found it filled with water. My new notebook that I will use from today, documents, pouch, shoes, clothes, and I got so wet that I could wring it out. It’s best to carry important documents in a plastic bag.　　I made lunch today! Small breaks that are not set from what time to what time? I was surprised to see that it was Italian style, but after about 20 minutes, everyone returned and the lesson started.　After the lesson, I headed out to look for gelato.

（2日目）
本日は、8時25分Agenzia della Entrata前集合。自宅を出た時は、ポツポツ・・・今日は雨？程度の小降りでしたが、土砂降りと雷に変わり全身シャワーを浴びているかのよう、びしょ濡れで到着。手続きは、現地スタッフさんがサポートしてくれるので問題なくスムーズに終わりました。学校へ戻って、リュックの中を開けたら、水が溜まってました。今日から使う新しいノートも、書類、ポーチ、靴、洋服、絞れるくらい濡れてしまいました。大事な書類はビニール袋に入れて持ち歩くのがベストですね。　今日はお弁当を作ってきました！何時から何時までと決めない小休憩？にイタリア式なのかとびっくりしましたが、20分位で全員戻ってきてレッスンが始まりました。　レッスン終了後、私はジェラート探しに向かいます。

(Day 3)
In the Italian class, the Japanese team and the English team take the class together. The lesson started in English and Italian. Until they get used to it, they sometimes have trouble understanding the questions the teacher is asking, but they are taking the class while helping each other with their classmates sitting next to them. The teacher uses printouts and slides with pictures, and the teacher also calls on each student one by one to make sure they understand, so it is an environment where you can say you don’t understand without feeling embarrassed about what you don’t understand, and the teacher explains until you do understand. I was not sure if private lessons would be better for me, but I was able to experience the advantages of group lessons.
After the lesson, the entire Japan team headed to the post office. It is really reassuring to meet classmates who have only been together for a few days!

（3日目）
イタリア語授業は、日本人チームと、英語チームが一緒に授業を受けます。英語とイタリア語でレッスンが始まりました。慣れるまで、先生が言ってる質問が理解できなかったりもしますが、お隣り席のクラスメイトと助け合いながら授業を受けています。絵が入っているプリントやスライドを使用したり、先生も一人ずつ声をかけ、理解したか確認してくれるので、わからないことを恥ずかしいと思わず、わからないと言える環境で、先生が理解するまで説明してくれます。プライベートレッスンの方が良いのか私は迷いましたが、グループレッスンの良さも体験できました。
レッスン終了後、日本チーム全員で郵便局へ向かいます。出会って数日のクラスメイト、ホント心強い！

(Day 4)
This morning, we had breakfast of miso soup and rice. I brought a mini earthenware pot, a set of rice bowls, and soft furikake from Marumiya from Japan. I have a weak stomach, so I cook for myself, taking care of my food.　9:00 – Italian class. Today’s teacher is a Japanese speaker. He is a professional who teaches Italian in English and Japanese. I can listen to the English group’s conversation and vocabulary. It is an Italian lesson, but I enjoy the group lesson where I can learn both!
After the lesson, we headed to an Asian supermarket we found a few days ago to buy some rice. After the lesson, I went to an Asian supermarket to buy rice, which I had found a few days ago. I asked the clerk in Italian, which I had learned, and he told me it had just arrived and took it out of the box. 1KG 6.3€ (about 1,002 yen) It takes a lot of energy just to buy one piece of rice! It’s nice to be able to do something so trivial.

（4日目）
今朝は、お味噌汁とご飯で朝食。ミニ土鍋と、お茶碗セット、丸美屋のソフトふりかけを日本から持ってきました。胃が弱いので食べ物に気をつけて、自炊してます。　9時〜イタリア語授業、今日の先生は日本語が話せる方です。英語と日本語でイタリア語を教えるプロフェッショナル。英語組の会話や単語も聞けて、イタリア語レッスンですが、両方学べるグループレッスン楽しんでます！
レッスン終了後は、数日前に見つけたアジアンスーパーへ、お米を買いに向かいました。数日前は陳列されていた”ゆめにしき”という、イタリアで作っている日本米が無く、店員さんに学んだイタリア語で尋ねました。丁度、到着したところだったそうで、箱から出してくれました。1KG 6.3€　（1,002円位）たった一つ購入するだけなのに、エネルギー使います！些細な事でも、出来るようになると嬉しい。

(Holiday)
Today, my classmates told me about a museum that offers free admission on the first Sunday of every month, so we went to the Uffizi Gallery and the Medici Chapel together with the Japanese team. We arrived at 8:00 a.m., but there was already a line. It was a good holiday for both body and soul. My classmates of various ages helped me with research and shared information with me. But they are helping me. I met some very grateful friends.

（休日）
今日は、クラスメイトが教えてくれた”毎月最初の日曜日に入場料が無料”になる美術館と、博物館があるそうで、ウフィッツィ美術館と、メディチ家礼拝堂へ日本チーム全員一緒に行ってきました。朝8時に到着しましたが既に行列。30分位で中に入り、ゆっくりと観賞。芸術に触れて、心身共に良い休日になりました。年齢も様々なクラスメイト、調べてくれたり、情報を共有してくれたり、私が最年長かな？？でも、助けてもらってます。有り難い仲間に出会いました。
